Worth a Look: Daft Punk Sampling – the Devil is not in the lyrics

January 14, 2014 by martinbelk

I ran across this very informative video from Sadowick Productions. This guy’s pretty on top of things. What impressed me is how he systematically highlights the dumbing down of our culture.

Too bad it’s Daft Punk – they actually make listenable music. Well, now we know they make snappy tunes out of other people’s music. I wonder what’ll happen in 20 years when this generation feels the nostalgic need, a human need, to look back and reminisce? I guess it won’t be much different than today, when these horrible, sampled acts take the stage: take away the drugs, the flashing lights, the constant hype and loud volumes – and all you’ve got is a bunch of dorks on a stage jumping around shouting: “Throw your hands in the air make some noise!!”

I threw my hands up a long time ago.    -mlb, on a train somewhere
